Agaves and others.

I was taking a look at one of my archival boxes, and came across some negatives of agaves and other botanicals that you might like.

Agaves are one of my favorite themes for black and white.

Most of those pictures were taken in Rio de Janeiro and the surrounding Atlantic Forest.

This agave was caught right after the rain:

A family portrait:

A close-up of the above agave was one of my donations for the latest Bakehouse´s Lucky You 2:

The other donation was an orchid.

Here the framed “Orchid” with Nory Contractor, the charming girlfriend of Harvey Oxenberg, the President of the Board of Directors of the Bakehouse:

Just a classical composition:

Etlingera Elatior. Both the name and the flower are beautiful:

Two kids of a nearby slum passed by when I was photographing the Etlingera Elatior:

Dear art lover, save the date for “en:twined” – Friday, April 9, from 7-10pm at the Bakehouse Art Complex:

The Strangler Figs of Miami.

Their seeds are deposited by birds on other trees. They grow their roots downward and envelop the host tree while also growing upward to reach into the sunlight zone above the canopy. They are all over Miami, in parks and streets, in your backyard, and jumping walls, like this one in Coconut Grove:

These live in Coral Gables:

Sometimes their convoluted roots and trunks resemble bodies:

Will their love outlast this strangling fig at the Bayside Marketplace?

Crawling the walls near Vizcaya, this strangler fig resemble lions and lizards:

All the above pictures(with the exception of the last one) were taken with a large format 4″ X 5″ camera. Do you want to hang one of them on your wall?
A 11″ X 14″ gelatin silver print costs only $65.00 plus tax. Add a nice black frame and your total cost will be $100.00 plus tax.
Give me a call at (786) 797-6302, or email me at cesar@cesarsphotos.com, or come to my studio # 24 at the Bakehouse Art Complex to look at some more.
